w3s is the stealth name for a spin-off from Protocol Labs Venture Studios. Our team comprises members from several high-profile projects at Protocol Labs, coming together to build a new, better web3-native storage network on top of Filecoin by leveraging the technologies and insights from building web3.storage and Filecoin Saturn. We aim to establish a "fast data" layer for the Filecoin ecosystem, providing crucial infrastructure for the decentralized web. Our protocols and systems focus on maximizing utility, resilience, and network value for all participants. We build openly, as part of the larger movements around Filecoin and the broader web3 ecosystem.

Summary

We are seeking a Developer Advocate who is deeply passionate about web3 and its potential to reshape technology. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in early-stage startups, where ambiguity and rapid change are the norm. You'll play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant developer ecosystem within the dynamic landscape of web3 technologies.

Our goal is to create the best possible developer experience while nurturing an innovative and collaborative community. The Developer Advocate role will be crucial in realizing this vision by leading efforts to build a supportive community, represent w3s publicly to developers, and generate excitement around our network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Code & Content Creation: Develop working example code for various use cases and write accompanying blog articles and collateral material
• Event Representation: Represent w3s at events to increase visibility and foster partnerships.
• Strategic Promotion: Generate excitement around w3s through strategic promotional activities.
• Documentation Ownership: Ensure clarity and accessibility of developer documentation.
• Hackathon Organization: Organize and oversee hackathons to drive engagement and innovation.
• Developer Onboarding: Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for developers.
• Social Media Engagement: Provide support with developer engagement on social media.
• Feedback Analysis: Collect and analyze developer and user feedback to inform product development decisions.
• Market Hypotheses Validation: Contribute to validating market hypotheses to ensure product-market fit.
• Community Management: Manage the web3.storage and Saturn node operator communities, transitioning them into a thriving w3s community.
• Community Cultivation: Develop and execute strategies to cultivate a new community centered around w3s.

You're a great fit if you have:

• A passion for web3 and belief in the transformative power of decentralized technology.
• 3+ years of experience as DevRel or Developer Advocate.
• Programming skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Go or any other programming language
• Experience with Smart Contracts (a plus).
• Interest in decentralized storage and content delivery network infrastructure. Excellent public speaking, content creation, and presentation skills (in person and online).
• Willingness to travel (including internationally) and ability to work autonomously.
• Proven track record of nurturing and growing large technical communities.
• Demonstrable following in social and technical channels (Twitter, YouTube, GitHub, etc.).
