Rarebase

Rarebase

Palo Alto, CA, USA
Posted on Aug 19, 2023

Overview

Rarebase is an early-stage, public benefit precision medicine company based in Palo Alto, California, working to deliver therapies for the millions of people living with rare genetic diseases that have no effective treatments. Utilizing our proprietary Function™ platform, we collaborate with families and patient communities personally affected by rare disease to identify therapies that can potentially target the underlying biology of a disease with the goal of effectively treating each individual patient within a year.

Function is focused on identifying FDA approved drugs that can be rapidly repurposed and prescribed off-label by physicians to rare disease patients. The cutting edge platform integrates cellular models of disease with functional genomics, high throughput screening, high content imaging and computational biology to recommend potential treatments that physicians can prescribe to rare disease patients. We are building a next-generation automated lab in Palo Alto and building a team to bring this transformational approach to rare disease patients worldwide.

Rarebase is backed by top-tier institutional investors, pharma and biotech angel investors, families personally affected by rare disease, and others that truly care about our mission to re-invent therapeutic development for genetic diseases. Our advisors are leaders in the biotech and genetic disease community.
