Privy

Software Engineering
Posted on Monday, May 1, 2023
Did you know that the latin word for frontend is ludus? Ok, so that’s not actually true, but games are very much how we think of frontend engineering here at Privy. Using a product should be fun and delightful. The interfaces we expose should be intuitive, and things should just work. Help us delight users on the Web!
We seek an experienced frontend software engineer to take a founding leadership role in scaling our primary product: the Privy SDK. As a frontend lead at Privy, you'll be working on the main product interfaces our customers and users interact with, in particular our core client libraries and component libraries.
You’ll collaborate directly with the CTO, push forward the Privy product with high autonomy and impact, mentor junior engineers, and take founding responsibility in Privy’s success and expansion.
Engineering at Privy
Engineering at Privy is not just about writing world-class code. We create software that turns complex technical systems into delightful developer tools. We assemble tried-and-true primitives into intuitive, responsive APIs and beautiful interfaces. We believe in open-source work and transparency with our teammates and users. We encourage each other to think big, run experiments and follow our curiosity so we can build better tooling that lets developers shine and empowers their users.
We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace makes us stronger. We're committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of our users and the world around us.
As a Frontend Engineer at Privy, you will…
Own and maintain core Privy client libraries in Typescript, starting with our React SDK
Architect the Privy SDK for cross-platform, cross-framework scalabiity
Build and optimize a reusable UI component library including key user-facing modals
Design wallet connection abstractions and integrate Privy with essential web3 tools
You may be a fit for this role if you have...
Deep knowledge of Typescript and React
Experience building and maintaining delightful production libraries and SDKs
A deep understanding of the architecture of modern Node and React applications
Prior experience working closely with a designer to iterate on a product
An understanding of modern web development best practices
Experience writing delightful developer documentation
Bonus points if you have...
Published about your work (open-source code, presentations, papers, blog posts, etc.)
Interest in working with cryptography. The Privy SDK securely manages cryptographic keys on behalf of users.
Experience in frontend performance optimization. We ship a product that every customer integrates into their frontend and distributes to their entire user base!
Know your way around Figma and moonlight as a designer!
Never chained more promises than you could keep ;)
What it's like to work at Privy
Privy Auth is a simple, robust library to onboard all your users to web3, regardless of whether they already have a wallet, across mobile and desktop. By building at the intersection of users and developers, we set the foundation for identity infrastructure that will power web3.
We are building a distributed company with in-person offices in New York City and San Francisco. We value the flexibility of remote work as well as the small things you only get from being around your teammates.
If you're passionate about bridging Web 2 and Web 3 architectures, helping developers build transformative experiences for users, and reclaiming ownership and identity for users on the Web, we'd love to talk with you.
