Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
This role can be based in San Francisco, Mountain View, or New York.
The Global Accounting & Reporting (“GAR”) team is looking for a dynamic experienced Fixed Asset Accounting Manager to lead the NAMER Fixed Asset Processes. As Fixed Asset Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the NAMER fixed asset process and reporting, collaborating across capabilities to build efficient and sustainable accounting processes that facilitate strong internal financial controls and support business growth. You will be collaborating with senior finance leaders and various cross-functional team leaders on all facets of fixed assets as well in partnership with the lease accounting team. You will be a primary partner to the FP&A, Global Workplace Operations and the Datacenter Operational Team to ensure proper assets management and accounting of Datacenter assets. You will also be a key stakeholder in implementing process and technology transformation in addition to supporting the day-to-day operations at a global scale.
We are seeking a candidate with strong fixed asset accounting knowledge, strong communication and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate should have prior Fixed Asset Accounting experience, preferably with a High-Tech Multinational Company. Other key areas of knowledge would be a good understanding of Inventory/Asset Management, Accounts Payable, procurement and FP&A monthly accrual processes. Additionally, there should be a strong understanding of accounting principles and have a strong working foundational knowledge of accounting processes end to end. This role will drive finance & accounting initiatives with global key stakeholders to enable process and system improvements, develop and maintain effective controls and influence change that will globally scale the finance organization.

Basic Qualifications
The pay range for this role is $103,000 to $168,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Fixed Assets Accounting process in close collaboration with cross functional business partners for the NAMER region (US & Canada)
- Collaboration in global alignment and policy application with international GAR teams
- Collaboration in Datacenter asset management as it impacts accounting & financial reporting
- Analyze capitalization expenditures to determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with capitalization policy
- Apply internal policies to capitalization expenditure requests and support continued updates to policies to support business growth and expansion
- Review and approve journal entries, monthly account fluctuation analysis and account reconciliations primarily for Fixed Assets and other assets maintained in the FA Subledger (i.e. Intangible Assets, Capitalized Website Development Costs)
- Review fixed asset additions and retirements, depreciation expense, gain/loss on disposals and all related reconciliations.
- Maintain the company’s fixed asset policy and ensure it is in compliance with GAAP. Including assisting and guiding other departments in determining what costs qualify as capitalizable.
- Identify, present and implement solutions for process improvements, automation opportunities and enhanced area reporting capabilities
- Manage data integrity and preparation of financial information to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness and accessibility
- Coordinate and review the support schedules & responses to external auditors
- Coordinate and review the reports and schedules prepared for tax & SEC reporting
- Foster communication and teamwork within and across organizational boundaries
- Monitor and execute internal control procedures to ensure that company assets are adequately protected
- Support budgeting process and actual to forecast variance analysis
Basic Qualifications
- BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance or related degree
- 7+ years of relevant experience leveraging global processes and tools in areas of fixed assets accounting operations and reporting
- 4+ years of experience with large ERP systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- CPA preferred with public accounting/audit experience
- Leadership experience working within a shared services model
- Ability to think strategically and act operationally on overall business processes within Finance, general ledger systems and foreign currency translation
- Experience working in a global organization where leading and driving change across multiple companies is key
- Highly organized and detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Executive communication, and interpersonal skills
- US GAAP for Fixed Asset accounting
- Procurement, Accounts Payable and Inventory processes
- Leasehold Improvements and Project Accounting
- Producing reports and analytics to support the management review of financials
- Strategic thinking and leadership skills
