Zillow Home Loans (ZHL) provides customers with a streamlined option for their home financing needs. By utilizing Zillow's home-buying expertise and cutting-edge technology, we’re working to create an easier, smoother ‘check-out’ experience for real-estate transactions.The Business Operations (“BizOps”) team serves as the central nervous system of ZHL, responsible for defining and delivering ZHL’s next phase of evolution and growth. This team focuses on our most critical and strategic cross-company projects, ranging from overall company strategy to owning key strategic projects in partnership with senior-most leaders across Zillow Group.
About the role
The Director, Business Operations will lead the rhythm of the business function for Zillow Home Loans and be responsible for managing business performance, diagnosing business performance levers and new opportunities, and providing regular executive updates. This position requires a strategic and data-driven leader with a demonstrated track record of leading teams that have successfully scaled operationally complex businesses. This Director will play an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction while collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale our delivery of a seamless home financing experience.
What you’ll do:

Lead “rhythm of the business” function for Zillow Home Loans
Own and be accountable for leading business performance review meetings with senior leaders on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
Lead strategic deep dives to diagnose funnel trends and identify levers to increase revenue and conversion (either as a direct owner of the modelling & analysis, or as leader able to direct the work of others)
Obsess over our business metrics, helping to surface and drive initiatives that inform our overall strategy and move the needle for ZHL and our customers

Drive delivery of strategic projects as part of our quarterly OKR process
Manage delivery against our quarterly OKRs across product, engineering, ops, sales which includes setting the right targets & prioritization of the right roadmaps to deliver against those metrics
Track projects, timelines and commitments on internal projects and related top deliverables

Lead the expedition on special projects to grow & optimize Zillow’s Digital and Premier Agent channels:
Lead the execution of high-impact projects across ops, sales, product, engineering
Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to accelerate progress, solve hard scaling initiatives, and incubate new programs and functions
Build and lead a high performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability
Report directly to the VP of Business Strategy & Operations
Who you are
12+ years of relevant experience, preferably within high-growth startups, fintech, investment banking and/or management consulting
5+ years of people management experience
Exceptional business acumen & data orientation w/experience owning a P&L
Seasoned generalist leader with direct experience in several different functions including Strategy, Operations, Marketing, Product Management
Data driven problem solver with strong proficiency in Excel and/or SQL
Experience influencing teams in highly cross-functional settings, and in a role that spans strategy, analytics, product and operations in a fast-paced environment
Strong program management skills with experience leading end-to-end execution of projects/programs that have transformed company operations and delivered quantifiable business impact
First-principles thinker (e.g., ability to question how we are working rather than simply executing)
Excellent written and verbal communication with strong executive presence
Demonstrated ability to thrive in influence without authority environments
An ability to execute with minimal guidance, and in contexts with a high degree of ambiguity
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
