Our Production Network Engineering team is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to Design and Operate our Data Center network and DC Interconnect. We seek an individual who has experience in managing and operating host networking including Kubernetes based container networking and High Performance Computing technologies like Infiniband/ROCE for GPU clusters. The ideal candidate should have a strong Routing, Host networking and HPC expertise with DevOps and automation experience and mindset.

This role will be based in Bangalore, India.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team

Responsibilities
• Participate in the design and implementation of multi-vendor production networks using open hardware and SONIC spanning multiple data centers.
• Evaluation of new Platforms to meet the growing demands for high capacity and low latency interconnections.
• Design, implement and operate host networking for kubernetes based compute infrastructure, including linux kernel tuning, container networking.
• Design, implement and operate network fabric for HPC workloads including Infiniband or ROCEv2 or any emerging technologies in this space.
• Plan and implement complex Hardware uplifts and Software upgrades in our network.
• Ability to automate tasks and manual workflows using scripting languages like Python or Go.
• Collaborate with Network software team to improve the systems of config management, operational tooling and observability.
• Participate in 12x7 on-call rotation, and be available to work with global teams in the event of critical outages.
• Focus on improving operational excellence of production network, improving through process, procedure and design.
• Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables related to your technical expertise and assigned domains.
• Mentor and train other team members on coding standards, and infrastructure architecture related to your technical expertise and assigned domains.

Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
• 2+ years of programming experience in Golang, Python, Java, and/or C/C++.
• Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, RDMA, network overlay technologies, and network-based Quality of Service (QoS).
• Experience in programming languages like Python, Go, or other scripting languages.
• Knowledge in Kubernetes, host networking, host TCP tuning.
• Experience in network congestion control solutions such as QoS, DCTCP/ECN, and eBPF.
• Experience with network management, configuration generation and provisioning systems and tools. Ansible, REST/gRPC, NETCONF, Jenkins, Puppet, YANG, OpenConfig, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
• BS and 5+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 4+ years of relevant work experience, or Ph.D. +2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in managing network infrastructure for HPC workloads and Host networking.
