At LinkedIn, hybrid roles are performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. Remote roles are performed from the designated home work location upon time of hire, and any changes to this home work location requires a review of remote status and approval.

We are looking for a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for the Trust Engineering organization — focusing on Login, Account Recovery, Identity Verification. Through their deep domain expertise and technical judgment, this leader will lead the engineering team on building proactive defenses to protect our members against abuse and harm on the platform, scaling our platforms and infrastructure with the growth of our business and providing industry leading solutions through technology innovation.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the team to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for the most complex problems to keep members safe on the platform.
• Drive technical roadmap and architecture across the Trust engineering organization
• Align on product and technology strategy related to Trust issues across functions and organizations across LinkedIn
• Lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation and mentor the next generation of engineering leaders.

Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
• 5+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, C#
• 3+ years of experience in an architect or technical leadership position

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Account Access, Login, Account Recovery, Identity Verification, or Application Security.
• 10+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
• 10+ years of experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Python, Java, C/C++, C#
• 5+ years in an architect or technical leadership position
• Domain expertise in anti-abuse systems, anti-abuse platforms, security infrastructure or related areas.
• Experience with machine learning or related technology.
• Experience in designing and implementing technologies for highly distributed platforms.
• Experience in leading cross-organization, cross-functional efforts and successfully delivering transformational technology for hard problems.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $171,000 to $280,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
