Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role is based in our Mountain View/Sunnyvale office.

LinkedIn’s R&D Finance Team is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to support InfoSec, Productivity Engineering and overall R&D, playing a critical role in shaping strategic financial planning, investment decisions, and operational efficiency. This role will act as a key business partner to InfoSec leadership while also driving centralized R&D planning and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with InfoSec leadership to develop, analyze, and recommend strategic initiatives and investments.
  • Support centralized R&D planning and strategic initiatives, collaborating closely with R&D, Corporate Finance, Center of Ops Innovation, Talent Acquisition and other cross-functional teams.
  • Drive long-term financial planning, investment strategy, and scenario analysis for InfoSec, Productivity Engineering and overall R&D to optimize resource allocation.
  • Develop business cases and financial frameworks to support key initiatives, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Supports performance management by creating, maintaining, and updating complex models and forecasts and develops improvements/alternatives for key metrics.
  • Executes ad hoc analyses to prove/disprove hypotheses and address highly complex business questions, deriving actionable insights from results.
  • Review and consolidate R&D expenses, ensuring accuracy and identifying opportunities for trade-offs during resource allocation discussions.
  • Drive cross-functional strategic projects across R&D teams, including initiatives such as geostrategy, software consolidations and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members across the R&D Finance team, reviewing financial deliverables and helping them structure contributions to strategic projects.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with other teams and proactively seeks input and feedback to develop an understanding of their priorities and constraints.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field AND minimum 5 years of experience in finance, finance accounting, management consulting, investment banking, or related field OR equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the technology industry.
  • Strong, independent perspective to challenge teams’ thinking, influence leaders on direction, while building trust-based relationships across the company to drive alignment.

The pay range for this role is 123,000 to 199,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
