About Corintis

Corintis offers innovative microfluidic cooling technologies for AI chips/GPUs and CPUs used in data centres. Working with many of the world’s largest tech companies, our solutions improve compute sustainability and tackle the excessive electricity consumption associated with data centre cooling, which consumes more electricity than New York and London combined.

Ranked as the No.1 Engineering startup in Switzerland for 2025, Corintis offers a friendly and team-oriented workplace, bringing together over 110 people from over 35 nationalities to solve the most significant computing challenges of tomorrow. Based in the EPFL Campus in St. Sulpice, we are closely connected to the local ecosystem and are located a few minutes walk from Lake Geneva.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for important parts of the software that our engineers and customers use to simulate and design microfluidic cooling solutions. You will report to the Head of Software Engineering. You will work closely with software engineers, simulation engineers, product managers and the engineers who use our software every day.

This role plays an important part in the speed and the reliability of our software delivery. Our software becomes larger and more complex each year, but it must stay fast, correct and easy to change. You will have a strong influence on the technical direction of our software. Your work will help our engineers and customers get better cooling designs in less time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build large-scale software systems, from the first architecture to the release.

  • Write clean, efficient, tested and well-documented Python code.

  • Convert user needs into clear technical designs, and deliver these designs as new features.

  • Make software design decisions, and define best practices for design patterns, code reviews and tests.

  • Review code and mentor junior developers to help them grow professionally.

  • Find and remove performance bottlenecks, and fix the root cause of defects.

  • Find technical debt, and reduce it together with the team.

  • Evaluate new technologies and tools, and adopt the tools that make our development more efficient.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience

  • Extensive experience with Python and its ecosystem

  • Proven ability to design and build large, complex software systems

  • Strong knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices

  • Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle

  • Fluent English and strong communication skills

  • Preferred: experience with multiple programming languages and paradigms, HPC systems, or simulation and modelling software

This Is a Great Fit If You...

  • Like to own a complex technical problem, from the first idea to the software in production

  • Want your software to help reduce the energy that data centres use for cooling

  • Value simple solutions and code that other people can read and change easily

  • Are curious about the physics and engineering problems of our users

  • Find a good balance between fast delivery and long-term quality

This Won’t Be the Right Role for You If...

  • You prefer to work only on new features. This role also includes maintenance, defect fixes and technical debt.

  • You prefer to work without contact with users. You will often discuss requirements and problems directly with them.

  • You prefer a highly structured, corporate environment with fixed processes and stable priorities.

  • You prefer to work fully remotely. This role requires on-site collaboration.
