Chemify has just completed its Series B funding which will enable strengthening the technology, scaling up its capacity and expanding the commercial team in the US and Europe.

The Role

Customer success (CS) is key to an organization’s success as it is responsible for setting and delivering on customer expectations. The CS team is part of the commercial organization and primarily responsible for alliance management, building strong relationships with our partners and expanding the book of business with existing customers.

Additionally, the commercial team plays the role of trusted voice of customer to the whole company, and advisors to the executive team. At Chemify, CS is a critical function working transversally with business development (BD), project management (PM) and operations both internally and externally.

The Customer Success Director, USA is responsible for maintaining and expanding the existing customer base by building long-lasting relationships with our partners while coordinating the day-to-day alliance management with Chemify PMs. The candidate must possess a builder (“get your hands dirty”) attitude and a resilient mindset which are instrumental to succeed in a startup environment. Besides, the successful candidate will work closely with its European counterpart to co-shape the CS function by defining and refining scalable processes enabling a smooth customer experience from project scoping to completion and renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high performing role with the responsibility for key account management, and alliance management
  • Direct sales targets from the existing customer portfolio with an expectation of growing the business with the existing customer base.
  • Co-develop and execute the company-wide CS strategy for the assigned territory with its European counterpart.
  • Fully understand the current technology capabilities and existing market challenges it can fulfil.
  • Ensure the translation of partner needs into tailored proposals and negotiate/close the deals over a highly professional contract management (CDA, MSAs, Amendments, etc.). process.
  • Keep a close interface and excellent working relationship with the Senior Leadership Team as well as within the entire Chemify organization.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in a Life Science related discipline. Degree in chemistry is considered a plus.
  • Further training in business administration and/or marketing and sales.
  • Extensive market and industry knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical discovery/development and CRO business.
  • Minimum 6-7 years professional experience as a senior alliance management/business development professional (client facing), ideally leading the function with broad expertise across customer onboarding, management and growth.
  • Experienced in key account management, alliance management and/or business development and for US market. A deal sheet (while leading the negotiations and contracting) of multiple >5M relationships with biotechs and pharma companies from the sell side (existing customers accepted) would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated longevity with at least one company where the incumbent has built something.
