Facilities Technician - Maintenance & Operations

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to support the upkeep, maintenance, and safe operation of our facilities. This hands-on role involves performing a wide range of tasks, including routine maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep across systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
  • Inspect and maintain interior and exterior areas including walls, floors, roofing, lighting, and fixtures.
  • Support site operations, including furniture moves, event setup/teardown, and waste management.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when necessary.
  • Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets through the internal work order system.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
  • Must be able to pass background checks as required by job site regulations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving bending, climbing ladders, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching.
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights using ladders or aerial lifts
  • Must meet U.S. export control requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or other eligible status as defined by U.S. regulations.

Nice-to-Have

  • Trade school certificate, HVAC or electrical license.
  • OSHA safety training or forklift certification.
  • Experience with CMMS or work order tracking systems.

Capable of tactfully managing relationships with stakeholders to achieve company-desired outcomes without compromising relationships. Emails, IMs and verbal interactions are logical, drive clarity, and detailed enough to eliminate ambiguity.

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
