Office based role with hybrid working available, requiring up to 50% international travel, primarily between the UK and Austria.
Your role in our team:
We are seeking a driven and commercially minded individual to take ownership of our Custom Services Portfolio, with full accountability for revenue performance, pipeline development and long-term service-line growth.
In this role, you will ensure our specialist service offerings meet customer and market needs, uphold our high scientific and quality standards and align with our overall vision and strategy. By combining bit.bio Discovery’s capabilities with bit.bio’s ioCells, you will enable biopharma and academic partners worldwide to accelerate discovery.
You will work cross-functionally with commercial, scientific, and operational teams, as well as external stakeholders globally, to drive the effective execution of our strategy and deliver measurable commercial impact.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Commercial Ownership
- Own and deliver global revenue targets for the portfolio of specialist service offerings, with a primary focus on CRISPR screens and custom derivative model services.
- Build, manage, and grow a robust commercial pipeline to support sustainable service-line growth.
Service Portfolio Strategy
- Define, prioritise, and manage the service roadmap, including portfolio expansion.
- Translate scientific capabilities into commercially viable service packages with clear, compelling value propositions.
Market Insight & Competitive Intelligence
- Gather and analyse insights on customer needs, market trends, and competitive offerings.
- Use insights to inform service design, pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategy.
Demand Generation & Customer Engagement
- Generate leads and opportunities through direct customer engagement, scientific presentations and targeted outreach to biopharma, biotech and academic partners.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with key customers and thought leaders.
- Support pilot programmes, strategic collaborations, and long-term service adoption.
Sales & Marketing Enablement
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to ensure effective positioning of service offerings.
- Provide training, tools, and scientific input to support pipeline generation and opportunity conversion.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with teams in Cambridge and Vienna to ensure alignment, integration, and visibility across commercial, scientific, and operational functions.
- Act as the internal primary point of contact for customer service projects, tracking progress and ensuring timely delivery.
Performance & Portfolio Management
- Monitor service-line KPIs, revenue forecasts, customer satisfaction, and operational capacity.
- Identify opportunities to optimise both commercial and operational performance.

- Will have a minimum BSc (Hons) in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry (or equivalent experience).
- Have proven work experience in the Life Sciences industry in a product/portfolio management or R&D scientific role.
- Are highly collaborative with the ability to engage effectively with internal experts, customers and external stakeholders.
- Are commercially astute, customer-focused and results-driven.
- Have excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Have strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple initiatives effectively with a high attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
With essential experience in…
- Strong scientific understanding of functional genomics and stem cell biology or molecular biology.
- Proven track record of selling, developing or supporting products or services, or working in a customer-facing role close to both science and commercial teams (e.g. Field Applications Scientist, Sales Specialist), particularly in CRISPR screening using CRISPR/Cas9 technology.
- Proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, customer-focused service offerings.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 50%.

- Experience in marketing or business development roles within the Life Science sector.
- Experience with human induced pluripotent stem cell biology, characterisation and culture systems.
- MSc or PhD in a Life Sciences discipline.
