The role
Biofidelity is looking for an experienced Associate Director/Director of Data Science to lead the design, development and implementation of biostatistical tools and methods for analysis and reporting of genomic and clinical datasets. In this role, you will support cross-functional teams in addition to playing a key part in the development of Biofidelity’s products. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Key responsibilities:
● Manage a team of data scientists to develop and implement statistical techniques for design, analysis, and reporting of experiments
● Develop novel methods for analysis of custom molecular biology datasets from Biofidelity’s proprietary ASPYRE and NGS platforms
● Work closely with technology development, product development, clinical, and operations teams to define statistical and experimental plans
● Execute on analyses and clearly communicate results to cross-functional teams, helping to determine next steps
● Track and coordinate projects, communicating timelines and issues to the Senior Management Team
● Promote high quality, maintainable and tested code
● Work with software developers and quality teams to implement code in line with Biofidelity’s software development procedures and in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
● Write statistical plans and reports, contribute to publications, and support regulatory submissions
● Communicate technical concepts across the company, including to non-technical colleagues
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Experience in the development of statistical methodologies, techniques and tools
● Fluency in statistical programming (Python or R)
● Experience leading a data science team
● Ability to plan and prioritize complex projects
● Experience in life sciences and working with biological data
● Curious, proactive and problem-solving mindset
● Clear communicator, with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work across different teams
● Knowledge of software development and quality assurance such as ISO 13485, EN 62304, ISO 27001 (desired)
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
● PhD or equivalent level of relevant industry experience in Statistics/Biostatistics/Mathematics or a related discipline
● Previous industry experience in life sciences in a similar role
