Head of IT & Security
Company
AnySignal is developing the next generation of RF products and services for some of the most demanding space and defense missions. We’re building a flexible, high-performance platform that’s easy to deploy, monitor, and scale — enabling customers to bring advanced radio technologies to life faster than ever before.
About the Role
We are seeking a Head of IT & Security to lead the internal systems and security programs that support AnySignal’s corporate environment, product platform, and government-focused customer work.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for owning and advancing IT and security as AnySignal scales. You will set strategy and drive execution across corporate IT, identity and access management, endpoint security, SaaS governance, cloud security, detection and response, and product/platform security.
Because AnySignal serves space, defense, and government customers, this role will also own the technical security posture required for environments with elevated expectations around access control, data protection, auditability, secure infrastructure, and customer trust. Direct government or defense experience is highly valuable, but not required.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Legal, Facilities, Compliance, and executive leadership to ensure our systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
Own and evolve AnySignal’s internal IT systems, including identity and access management, endpoint environments, SaaS tooling, device management, and core administrative workflows
Lead scalable processes for onboarding/offboarding, access reviews, device provisioning, system administration, vendor management, and internal support
Define and execute the IT and security roadmap across corporate, cloud, product, and government-facing environments
Design, implement, and operate security controls across endpoints, applications, cloud infrastructure, SaaS tools, and internal systems
Own IAM, SSO, MFA, privileged access, endpoint security, MDM, EDR, laptop hardening, patching, and least-privilege access models
Operate cloud security across AWS and other relevant environments, including IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, KMS, logging, and monitoring
Lead vulnerability management, penetration testing, detection and response, incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and post-incident reviews
Embed security into the SDLC through secure design reviews, threat modeling, code review, dependency scanning, container scanning, and secrets scanning
Partner with Compliance, Legal, Facilities, and Engineering to support government customer expectations, customer security reviews, CUI/ITAR/EAR considerations, secure operating environments, and auditability requirements
Communicate security priorities, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to executives, customers, partners, and internal teams
Hire and grow a small IT and security team over time
What Success Looks Like
AnySignal’s IT and security function scales effectively with the company, its customers, and its technical roadmap
Corporate, cloud, product, and government-facing environments have clear ownership, secure defaults, and strong operational discipline
Identity, endpoint, SaaS, and device management workflows are reliable, efficient, and easy for employees to use
Government customer security expectations are translated into practical technical systems and controls
Detection and response capabilities are tested, practical, and continuously improving
Engineering can move quickly because secure workflows are easy to adopt
Leadership has clear visibility into security risk, priorities, ownership, and remediation progress
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience across IT, information security, security engineering, cloud security, infrastructure, or related technical roles
Strong hands-on experience with IAM, endpoint security, device management, SaaS administration, internal systems, cloud security, and incident response
Experience with SSO, MFA, EDR, MDM, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, network segmentation, secrets management, and secure configuration
Experience partnering with engineering teams to embed security into product development and cloud/platform environments
Ability to operate as a hands-on leader in a fast-paced, scaling environment
Comfort operating in environments with elevated security, data protection, customer review, or auditability expectations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical security concepts to executives, customers, partners, and internal teams
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by CFR 120.62; U.S. citizenship strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace, defense, government contracting, satellite, RF, space systems, or other government-focused technical environments
Familiarity with NIST 800-171, CMMC, FedRAMP, CUI, CDI, ITAR/EAR, AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Government environments, or similar secure environments
Experience supporting customer security reviews, audit preparation, regulated technical environments, cleared programs, secure facilities, or SCIF-adjacent systems
Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, OSCP, or GIAC are helpful but not required
